Welcome to The Yorkshire Angling Forum
What we are about and the forum rules
The Yorkshire Angling Forum was born in March 2014, to offer a place for anglers of all backgrounds and abilities to participate in.
Our aim was to offer a place for like minded people to share and discuss different disciplines, tactics, tackle, bait and all the other various subjects that tend to crop up within our sport.
We also had the ambition to create a forum community that also regularly meet in person to share good times through fishing and as such we quickly held our first Social, which was a great success and as a consequence we have booked a further three Socials which will be taking place over the next 6 months.
The great thing about the Yorkshire Angling Forum is out diverse membership, where anglers from all over the Yorkshire region and beyond come together to interact together and it is no doubt that quite a few of our members have founded lifelong friendships through our Socials and the Forum itself.
For the future, our goal is simple. We wish to increase the forum membership, to further enhance the diversity of the Yorkshire Angling forum, expand and develop the forum itself with the input of new and existing members, but fundamentally we want to ensure our members have the opportunity to meet each other through Socials and other events. We also wish to provide a platform to help any newcomers to the sport.
If you are after a forum where likeminded people come together to talk all things angling, then this is the place to be and the more the merrier! If you are looking for information on new waters and to meet some top and unique characters within the angling community, then look no further.
The Yorkshire Angling Forum is the place for you.
Rules
After discussion between the moderating team we have come up with a new and fairly simple code of conduct for the forum that will come in to effect from the date/time this post is made. This is intended to help the forum move forward and build a good reputation - We want the forum to be relaxed, but at the same time we ask that an element of respect is maintained for the forum and its members alike, therefore:
General
- All contributions made by members are their own and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Y.A.F or its Staff, nor is Y.A.F or any of its staff in any way liable for posts made.
- The Y.A.F team will not allow posts of a rascist, homophobic, xenophobic, graphic or generally unsavoury nature. We also ask that strong language is curbed when posting. Posts containing any of the aforementioned may be edited/deleted and the member in question sanctioned at the discretion of the Y.A.F Team
- Personal attacks on other members and the Y.A.F Team or other organisations on the open forum or in personal messages will not be tolerated. The Y.A.F Team will act upon anyone found to be doing this.
- Whilst we want to encourage good 'banter' we'd like to remind everyone that as we are wishing to cater for all, please be mindful of the above. It is not our intention to have to 'referee' things constantly, but please be sensible.
- All private messages are to remain private, unless permission is sought from a member of the Y.A.F team to post any such material on the open forum.
- Duplicate accounts are prohibited. Banned users found to have re-joined under another username will have the account in question banned.
- Please can all new members take a minute to introduce themselves, so we can get to know you - we don't bite!
- All decisions taken by the Y.A.F Team will be final
For Sale Section
- The for sale section is there to be used not abused. Personal sales only. No traders! Please note also that the sale of Knives or any form of firearm, be that legal (Air Rifles etc) or licensed (Shotguns etc) is prohibited.
- The Y.A.F team will be in no way held liable for any form of mishap or personal financial loss that comes from the use of the For Sale section. The safe and proper negotiation of any sale/purchase is the sole responsibility of the seller/buyer.
Official Socials/Non-Official Personal meet ups
- Official Y.A.F Socials are only to be organised by members of the Y.A.F team and any monies payable for such events shall only be payable strictly to the Y.A.F paypal account, held by the forum trustees. Any social payments will be non-refundable. At the discretion of a staff member a place can be 'sold' to any suitor wishing to attend in the absence of someone else. Please ask a member of the team if you would like to do this.
- The Y.A.F Team and its staff will in no way be held liable for any financial loss that occurs as a result of any Official Social Payment, nor will it be held liable for any other form of loss or injury that occurs as a result of attending a social. We remind all members attending any Official Y.A.F Social that you represent the forum and as such we request you respect any rules in place at a given venue and we expect no anti-social behavior, excessive drinking* or substance taking. Members in breach of the aforementioned will be prohibited from attending any future socials and may be liable to a full forum ban (*All about moderation here - If you are wanting to have a few drinks we advise you wind your rods in).
- Only members of the Forum are permitted to attend Socials unless approved by the Y.A.F team.
- Whilst we wholeheartedly encourage all of our members to organise trips out fishing together, we must remind any members organising their own socials or get-togethers, that any such event is not an 'offcial' Y.A.F event and therefore the Y.A.F Forum and its staff will in no way way be associated (even if in attendance) or held accountable for any problems that may occur, such as financial loss, injury or anti-social behaviour.
