newbridge round 2

Well lads i had a pass out AGAIN from the missus yesterday and i was planning on getting to a lake early doors and look for fish but then once again work wanted overtime so when 2 oclock came i was away from work quick stop of at hull angling for few bits load car get some tea and ill be away but there was a problem where to go?
a few frantic phone calls round and i was on Newbridge on a peg that hadn't been fished since Sunday i couldn't get there quick enough..

on arrival i sat and watched the water for half an hour looking for signs of fish I was only doing an overnighter so putting a bed of bait out wasn't an option during this period i saw 10-15 boshing out/tailwalking perfect tied a couple blow back rigs up one with these new korda krank hooks (awesome hooks for all your korda haters)both size 6 hooks i was determined not to lose any bites.

had a lead around and cast straight to showing fish both with solid bags,the night passed fairly slow with horrendous downpours at times 21.00pm came had a little drop back which resulted in those horrible slimey specimens bream D: then another then another i thought about leaving that rod out as it was dark and i slight mis cast would go straight in the thick lillies and it was dark by this point but i had a feeling something would happen id seen to many fish crashing on my spots all night it was just a matter of time.

the night passed without a bleep then at 4:00 all hell broke loose both my delkims were screaming both my bobbins had pulled tight both my new longbows were in the water oh f**k which do i strike i chose the left rod and it was tight like when you get stuck in heavy weed i kept the tip in the air and walked back trying to it free and right rod had stopped so it was clear id crossed lines i kept the tip in the air thinking is there something on? Or nor then a small lunge happens and i knew i was in after 40 minutes stood out in torrential rain in just my shreddies and sodden socks with slugs sliming amock i finally got this fish free finally action time it wasn't happy taking line i gained a foot and it took two finally got it within netting distance i finally had a glimpse of the fish and it looked a beauty i slid the net under it and peered into a saw a mint mirror carp i unhooked put it back in the net and put some clothes on.

after getting myself sorted it was light and z i was the happiest man on the lake for sure a new pb and what a stunner it was ive fished the place since i was 11 and never had a mirror and ive had two in a month from here after ten minutes videoing myself holding the beautyy i slid her back hoping to get her again this time before she spawns.

i quickly fired my rods back out hoping to get some kip but it wasn't happening i was buzzing still am to be honest not thhe biggest fish in the lake by a long stretch but it deffinitely made me smile.
