hi guys I wont bore you all with a full catch report I think our jimmy summed it up to a tee
had an epic session at newbridge didn't have a session like our top rod but I was happy none the less.
when I arrived at the lake at 6:30 Monday morning I had lake to myself and after hurricane bertha there were broken trees scattered all over stalking spots
when jimmy arrived the wind seemed to of changed a lot we was now fishing on the end of a warm wind perfect for a bite and within half an hour he had two stunners on his mat and them two turned to 3 then 4 then 5 then 6 with a 29ld scale perfect common been the biggest.
I was fearing worst at this point my forum reputation in absolute tatters but who cares I was with an awesome lad who is an absolute pleasure to fish I was happy just witnessing such stunning fish but I was determined to get a consolation carp and I knew if I was to do this I knew I needed to up my game I decided to get the jimmy advice and he helped me get my rods to within a millimetre of a big lily bed and after 10 or more casts I was there.
after a nice takeaway and getting him half cut on cider and double takes on snotties :@ it was that time of day to get our heads down.
the night went by very quiet barring jimmy thinking people were trespassing behind his bivvy lol. No action on any 5 rods until half 4 when I had a couple single bleeps and a dropback on the right hand rods I struck into it and instantly thought it was return of the snotties until it kicked into life and after a spirited battle resulted in a stunning 19 ld 01oz ghost carp.
absolute stunner fish looked nice as well and the pressure was finally of and I could relax and enjoy the session and that was it in terms of action for me until mine and jimmys Cornish pasty double take this morning.
but what a great session counting the minutes down till our next effort third time lucky eh??
chees for reading boys tight lines!
