But he want quiteee carling
i been waiting six months to write that
ill keep this relatively short so i don't bore you all.
me and the fulla as most of you all know went to a1 pits in Newark on Friday for what he said will be a big runs water kind of session ( exactly the same as he said about oaklands) so i set of Friday afternoon on a two hour long journey with hopes of landing a few fish.
jimmy was already set up when i arrived on pit 3 not the easiest pit but not the hardest either its a good 10 acres of water with fish reported to be upper 30s to go at and over 800+ carp.
after a quick chat with jimmy and his mate Lewis i set up to the left of jimmy right in the centre of lake and after a quick lead around finding nice silty spot just of the gravel at 40 yards or 10 rod lengths i made a few pva socks and got my rods out just before 3.
the light fell quickly and i decided to leave my rods out and just put a scaterring of boilie over top of them sounds fairly easy if it was for the 3000 seagulls taking them all mid flight if only i had an air rifle.
as with every session with jimmy we go mainly for the social then for the fishing and he had me and his mate crying with laughter all night.
until 9 o'clock when my right hand quite literally went into meltdown and after a good fight a lovely lovely chestnut common rolled into my net at 15 pound 6 oz i was quite simply buzzing id not blanked but more importantly my first fish away from Newbridge this year.
i quickly fired my rods back out and had a few more beers with the lads before staggering half cut back to the bivvy which i might add was more like a river with water mud and korda goo everywrte.
the rest of night went quietly for me barring the rumble of the a1 motorway not to mention the dreaded trains going past quicker then funky running whilst chased by a pair of lesbians after getting caught raiding dildo drawer.
that was until 4am just as it was getting light when again my right hand rod gave a few indications and i was in again with a very weak fighting 15 pound 8 mirror carp jommy was on hand with netting skills again to which he told me he had a mid double common an hour before it was starting to feel like a runs water now wed had three good fish on the bank in 12 hours.
but this was it in terms of action for us until early Sunday morning when again my right hand rod again teared off and by time i got out of bed had taken me to other side of lake but after a long hard fight i thought i had better of it and i thought she was ready for net it was a lovely looking common again until i had that horrible horrible feeling every angler hates more then a blank a hook pull right at the net i was that annoyed i through my rod on floor and booted net only to fall flat on my arse im so glad it was dark and noone saw me.
and then that was it 9 oclock came and me and jimmy had enough we was soaked graftes tired and scared to eat after seing rats the size of a two year child running round and field mice nicking all jimmy pva socks
but another quality fishing trip with a great lad and were already planning our next trip back there on the "colossal" a1pits pit 6 at over 60 acres this place could quite simply break us both as anglers but if we manage to get one of the giants that live there it will be a fish of a lifetime.
until next time chaps tight lines.
p.s you can all wake up now pics to follow dont worry there no sheep involves this time...
